So It Begins

So, finally Blogger and its proclaimed glory got the better of me. (I mean--blogrolls without HTML! Javascript! No vexing adverts! Can it get any better?)

Not *ahem* that I've been blogging much lately to begin with. Let's call it a month-long blogging fast, all right? That sounds better than "the month and a half in which Alyosha was both lazy and busy, but probably more lazy than busy."

My old posts are here: http://www.xanga.com/gaminfairy

The list on the sidebar is composed of mostly friends, but also some blogs whose authors I've never talked to but I find interesting, and a few blogs whose posts I find so intriguing because I disagree with them that I keep coming back.

The girl in my profile picture is not me, but for a stock photo she sums up a personality pretty well. Sarcastic, thoughtful, geeky, finds the world amusing while viewing it from a detached distance. Yep.

Undeniable truth: This blog is crying out for a decent title.

EDIT: There. Though it is subject to change at any time. Read the whole essay here.

  1. Ah! Lovely! Thou hast switched. Very nice post, most amusing.

Your title is quite nice. "Among the Gently Mad" is supior, I daresay; but you did the best you could. :P All you need is a avatar of a English looking bus/car or a man in a trench coat with an umbrella. Any poetically rainy scene will work well. Even though the That Hideous Strength quote included children and snow a avatar of such would not do. Or atleast, cough, I sound so ordering. Disregard such, please.

Who is in your avatar, BTW?

  2. Three cheers for Aly! Three more for Blogger!

I like Just Weather. There's scope for the imagination in a title like that...

  3. But I like the hat chasing even more!

We are starting a trend of hat-related blog titles, methinks. ;)

  4. So we are. *ponders this* How cutting-edge! Haha, somehow all my potential titles were Chesterton or Lewis related—no idea why. ;)

  6. Huzzah! Welcome to the spot of blog. :) Bookmarking the essay for bedtime.

I just asked a question pertaining to G.K. Chesterton on my blog, so you should head over and give my your thoughts. *stern face*

  7. I very much enjoyed that essay. The part about theological terms to which no doctrinal signifance is attached made me laugh.
