With Deepest Apologies to any ESTJs

or, "You're Not My (Myers-Briggs) Type." Can't resist posting this—the original has a bit of crude language and I can't find it on Youtube anyway (though it's on Playlist.com) so, lyrics—

I've been told by those in the know
That this is an ESTJ world
And though I soldier on and try to maintain,
The search for love sometimes seems in vain

My friends say you're cute
You're just my style
You've got a cherry scooter and a winning smile
You've got rave reviews, but I don't believe the hype
Honey, you're not my Myers-Briggs type!

I'm an I-I-I-I-N-F-P
There's only one percent of me

By temperament I'm a sensitive crusader
By temperament you're a slimy corporate raider
Your ESTJ-ness hits me just like kryptonite
Honey, you're not my Myers-Briggs type!

So hop right on that scooter, drive those stupid teeth away
It's been really great to meet you, hope you have a super day
Sorry if that's rude, but you irritate and vex
It's not personal, it's your personality index!

I'm an I-I-I-I-N-F-P
There's only one percent of me

I'm introverted, intuitive, feeling, perceiving
You're obnoxious, self-involved, shallow, deceiving
I'm an I-I-I-I-N-F-P...

  1. Wow...interesting song. But not true, of course. My uncle is an ESTJ and he's a genuinely nice person, who is always willing to help others, works hard and is dedicated to his commitments.

But we all knew that. ;)

  2. Tehehehe! That's great.

BTW, How'd you get your personality onto your blog?

  3. Krys - of course not. If anything it's poking fun at people who take things like the MBTI too seriously. :)

Hannah - go to mypersonality.info and take their test (you might have to register first--which takes about ten seconds) and then they'll give you a widget thing and the code.

  4. *nods* Right. :) I wonder if 'they' have done any other songs for the MBTI? ;)

  6. Krys - yes, the mysterious "they"... Sadly no. We should write one, I'm sure it would be sensational. :P

  7. Thanks, Aly! I'll look....

And since Aly gave away me name, I'll just use that. *sigh* *doesn't like her name much*

Ruth: Who are you and what have you done with Ruth and get a blog? Or, half of a blog, anyway?

  8. Kelsey: Yes indeed! That would be quite fun- especially if the writer of the song did it for their opposite type- ie, INTP/ESFJ, ISFJ/ENTP, etc. Although I don't know enough ENTPs to be able to accurately do a song for them anyways. (Or, twould be filled with unfair prejudices, etc. ;) )

  9. Hannah - sorry! But your blog address sort of did anyway. :P *I* like your name, in fact the only reason I probably wouldn't use it for future offspring is that so many other people do too. :P

Krys - Heh, I know plenty about ENTPs from firsthand experience (mwahaha) but not much about ESFJs. I shall add it to my list of things to do when procrastinating on finals.

  10. Kelsey: Sounds loverly! Do let me know when you've come up with something. I'm sure you're smart enough and know enough about the MBTI to do a good song on whichever type. ;)
